Smart Expense Manager (“the app,” “we,” “us”) is operated by SharpEdges. This policy explains what data the app handles and how. By using the app you agree to this policy.

01 Data you enter stays on your device

Your expense entries — amounts, categories, notes, dates, and any receipt images you capture or attach — are stored locally on your device. We do not upload, transmit, or have access to this data, and we operate no servers for your expense data.

02 Camera

The app uses your camera only when you choose to scan or photograph a receipt. Captured images are processed on your device to suggest expense details, which you confirm before saving. Images are stored locally.

03 Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app displays ads through Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK). To serve ads, this third-party service automatically collects and shares data such as your IP address, advertising and device identifiers, app-usage interactions, and diagnostic information with Google and third-party ad networks for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention.

This processing is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy and Google’s advertising terms. Where consent is required (for example, in the EEA or UK), the app will request your consent for personalized ads.

04 Purchases (Google Play Billing)

If offered, the optional one-time “Remove Ads” purchase is processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment details; Google handles the transaction. Your purchase status is stored locally to disable ads.

Note: if you launch without in-app purchases, delete this section so the policy matches the app.

05 Data retention and deletion

Expense data and receipt images remain on your device until you delete individual entries, clear the app’s data, or uninstall the app. For advertising data handled by Google and ad networks, there is no single end-to-end deletion method across all networks; where consent applies, you may withdraw it, and you can reset or limit your advertising ID in your device settings.

06 Children

The app is not directed to children and is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

07 Security

Your expense data is stored in the app’s private storage on your device. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but the app is designed to keep your entered data local.

08 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date above.
